To sum up, if we accept the fact that to play, to enjoy and learning are the basic drive of all chess players,our conclusion is that this work will assist enthusiasts of any level to achieve this last goal, that of learning. In this part of his work, Roberto Grau invites the readers to discover the thrilling world of combinations. Through excellent examples, ideas - which are essential for a thorough command of the subject – are conveyed by him in a manner that is easily understood. Thus, for instance, he underlines the importance of attaining the right balance between existing chess pieces and time, he goes into special details over concepts such as those of sacrifice, space or initiative and he also explains all the possible ways of attacking to attain checkmate or to gain rival pieces.At the same time, the subject matter of development( of the game ) is treated in great detail by the author.
